We’re already halfway through July, and summer seems to be flying by. LA-based clothing label Ludwig are getting ready to make some space for the next batch of great gear with their 25% Off Summer Sale. The sale ends on the 24th.
An inspiring look at some of what went into creating the logo for the impressive USA Basketball x Jeep Believe Collection, straight from the Art Director, Jeff Staple. The collection features a series of limited edition collaborations (for the USA Basketball team) including Nike, Knockaround, Uncommon, SkullCandy, and more. “Brrr ding!” Via Imprint Culture Lab. I was lucky enough to interview Jeff Hamada again recently, this time, for Imprint Culture Lab. Head over to the ICL site to get an update from this talented gent from Vancouver. He’s a great artist on one hand, and he also runs Booooooom, one of the most popular art blogs in the world, on the other. You know, in his spare time. Plus, he’s an awesome dude.
The Agenda NYC opens at 82 Mercer St today and runs through tomorrow. It’s a really impressive eclectic line-up of great brands. I haven’t been to any of the recent NYC ones yet unfortunately, but it looks well worth the trip. Also, looks like Jeff Hamada of Booooooom is going out with three artists from the Northwest. A posse, of sorts.
DJ Ayres and DJ Eleven just so happen to be two of my favorite DJs. Together, like some kind of party-rocking Voltron, they form The Rub, a long-running series of parties in Brooklyn, paired with a series of excellent streaming radio podcasts. The team just celebrated their 10 year anniversary, so they put together an all-ages bash at Dekalb Market in Flatbush, and also released this “The Summer of The Rub” mix with 30 minutes of classic rock from ’67-’73. Head to the Brooklyn Radio site to stream and/or download it.
Very appropriately timed for today’s date, New Image Art gallery in West Hollywood unveil new work from secretive artist NECK FACE tonight. The event also includes new prints, free drinks, costumes (optional), and probably lots more blood splatters. The event only runs for about a week, so don’t dillydally if you’re a NECK FACE fan.
