“Velo” Le Film

Not sure what’s gotten into the water supply over in Yorklyn, Delaware! Check out this very funny, very French trailer about the new House Industries Velo font, avec cyclist Dan Chabanov. Directeur: Erích Weiss. Directeur de la photographie: Roman Arriola. Directeur de la création: Andy Cruz.

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards

You can keep your Drake tickets. West Australian psyche rock ensemble Tame Impala is one of the only reasons I’d even consider heading to Coachella (if I wasn’t way too old to party with all the youngsters in the middle of the desert). Well, them and Run The Jewels, obviously.

POW! WOW! Goodies

My time in Hawaii for POW! WOW! Hawaii 2015 is nearly up, unfortunately, so now is a good time to point out that this event is completely free to the public and one of the main ways people can support is by picking up some of the great POW! WOW! merch including these new POW! WOW! x Knockaround Fort Knocks sunglasses – the 2015 color – which are currently only available via the POW! WOW! online shop. Check out the other great items including limited edition Aloha shirts.

Saber Relaunch

I got to meet legendary Angeleno graffiti writer SABER during POW! WOW! Hawaii this week. When it comes to graffiti, it’s hard to think of a bigger name – he’s one of the most accomplished members of the world famous MSK / AWR crew, and he’s also credited with doing the largest piece in the world – on the walls of the LA river (buffed out now unfortunately). We had a great chat and he turned out to have tons of interesting thoughts about art and politics and life in general. His website has recently relaunched – check out his blog for more.

To The Future

Los Angeles-based artist El Mac has done some of the best walls in the city in the last few years, in my opinion. I’m a huge fan. Check out this wall he did in Toronto recently, via Mashkulture. It’s too bad that he couldn’t make it out to POW! WOW! Hawaii this week.

3rd Annual POW! WOW! Print Show

The 3rd Annual POW! WOW! Print Show presented by 1xRUN opens at Loft In Space / Fresh Cafe in the Honolulu neighborhood of Kaka’ako this evening. 6-10pm. It’s a chance to pick up some of the limited run prints that 1xRUN have available online here, including some that have already sold out.

Shop: Lost Art book

I’m very pleased to have the Lost Art book in stock in the shop. It’s a great source for vintage Los Angeles tattoo flash with an interesting story behind it, published by Incognito Tattoo. The flash art was discovered, unsigned, in a flea market in the early ’90s, and it wasn’t until recently that the work was attributed to Harry Lawson – a little known Los Angeles tattoo artist of the ’20s and ’30s.
