Blow One for Clarence

Blow One for Clarence is the newest project in the SHAOLIN JAZZ Tribute Series, paying tribute to Clarence Reid aka “Blowfly.” Reid, an accomplished musician, producer, and writer created material for, and was sampled by, notable acts from KC and the Sunshine Band to DMX, and his uninhibited alter ego “Blowfly” served as an influencer to a range of famed hip-hop artists, such as Snoop Dogg and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Roots & Chalice

I thought I’d switch things up this week and post some new reggae from Jamaican artist Chronixx and NYC-based soundsystem Federation Sound. The mix is to promote the upcoming LP from Chronixx and it highlights his trademark take on modern roots.
