A Cold Day in Helvetica

If you read my recent interview with Benjamin Escobar, you might have noticed he said he was preparing for a trip up to SF. This is a little gem he uncovered in a used bookshop up there, which he was kind enough to share with me. Apparently this title is a best-seller for Lars Müller Publishers, and has been reprinted several times. It very clearly falls on one side of the great Helvetica divide which exists amongst designers and typographers.  I wasn’t going to be the one to split the binding on his nice book, so I held it very gingerly in one hand, and shot the pages that stayed opened by themselves with the other.
