GO For Yourself

So I’ve been playing with this interesting social media platform called GO. It’s free a smartphone app available for iPhone and Android. One of the ways you can search content is via the map. So you can see what’s been posted in your neighborhood. Zoom out to world view, and you can see what’s been posted recently from all around the world. As user, you can snap photos, capture videos, write short comments, and post all of that content to your geo-location on the map. As such, it’s got elements of Instagram, Twitter, and Foursquare, all rolled into one platform. You can also post anonymously, which is interesting. There is much less of an emphasis on the user and more of an emphasis on content, which is nice for a change. Since it’s free, I suggest you download it and check out your area. If you’re into documenting the world around you, it’s ripe for that. You want to locate and post all the Banksy pieces in your city? Want to post all the skate spots in your town? See yourself as a budding reporter? GO for it. Since you can add custom tags to each post, it’s easy to define groups of posts so that someone else could search Banksy and see where all your posts are on the map…
