It’s Not Warm When She’s Away…

In 1991, an Australian group called The Rockmelons (featuring singer Deni Hines) had a hit with their cover of “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and I remember absolutely loving it at the time. A few years later, I discovered Bill Withers, the singer/songwriter behind “Ain’t No Sunshine,” not to mention other jams like “Lean On Me,” “Grandma’s Hands,” and “Use Me.” Needless to say, the Bill Withers original completely blew my mind and has been one of my favorite songs for years. It’s the song that took Bill Withers from working at an airplane toilet seat factory, to international stardom. Since I posted about the Still Bill trailer a few days back, I thought I’d follow up with this live recording from 1971 (the year the song was released)…
