The Many Flights of Donald Byrd

O-Dub has put together a great post over at Soul-Sides, in tribute to the late Donald Byrd, who passed away earlier this month, on February 4th. The Many Flights of Donald Byrd covers some of the major phases of his career, begining with bebop from 1959, and then moving into his exploration of soul jazz and fusion through the ’60s and ’70s. Amazing stuff. I interviewed Oliver for Imprint Culture Lab last year.
